Enjoy the essential highlights of Botswana and Zimbabwe on this tailor-made, luxury safari tour of two of Africa’s most famous countries. Explore two very different sides of the famous Okavango Delta, home to incredible animals and water activities such as mokoro trips, fishing, boat trips and much more. Next, it’s onto Victoria Falls, where you’ll stay on the Zimbabwean side and you can enjoy adventures such as white-water rafting and bungee jumping, or perhaps just a more sedate river cruise.

Day 1
Arrive in Maun and Fly to the Delta
You’ll arrive into northern Botswana at Maun Airport, the nearest international airport to the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve. From here, you’ll take a roughly 30-minute light aircraft flight to your accommodation at Pom Pom Camp.

This is an intimate, eco-friendly camp right in the heart of the Delta. It has just nine luxury safari tents and has great wildlife viewing particularly for lions and leopards.

Watch hippos splash in the lagoon, enjoy sundowners and relax by the campfire. You’ll stay in one of Pom Pom Camp’s nine Meru-style tents, secluded in the shade of trees (there is also a family tent, close to the main lodge).

Day 2-3
Explore the Okavango Delta
Pom Pom Island is the perfect place to start your exploration of the delta, paddling from island to island. Spot wildlife drinking or swimming in the water, go on game drives and try your hand at birdwatching. You may be lucky enough to spot beautiful bird species such as the pied kingfisher, African jacana or rare Pel’s fishing owl.

The wildlife viewing should be incredible from this camp. Seeing the ‘Big Five’ although elephants, lions, leopards and buffalo abound in Botswana, rhinos are a little harder to come by. They were poached out of the country completely and only recently, since the early 2000s have they started to be reintroduced into protected areas in the Delta. They are doing well and they are dispersing widely, however, it is still a very lucky sighting to have.

Day 4
Transfer to Khwai
After a final morning game drive at Pom Pom Camp, you’ll take a short flight to the Khwai Concession, located in the greater Okavango Delta region, where you’ll be staying at Machaba Camp for the next three nights.

Head out on safari this afternoon to explore this new area and in the evening, enjoy a gin and tonic overlooking the river. Then you’ll retire to your Meru-style tent. It is a lovely small camp with just eight rooms and two family units.

Day 5-6
Explore Khwai Concession
With Moremi Game Reserve to the south and Chobe National Park to the east, the wildlife in this concession is really reliable and productive as it is in between two of the most iconic wildlife areas in Botswana.

It is also a really beautiful concession, with a mixture of stunning channels, floodplains and mature woodlands, making this area a rich and diverse habitat for a wide range of species. In particular, the reserve is noted for its huge herds of elephants and buffalo and there are reliable sightings of wild dogs.

Day 7
Transfer to Victoria Falls
Next, you’ll leave the scenic delta views and big game with a flight to Victoria Falls, located on the border between Botswana’s neighbours, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

You’ll stay on the Zimbabwean side of the falls at Batonka Guest Lodge. This location is perfect for those looking for a relaxing sanctuary outside of town, with excellent proximity to Victoria Falls.

Day 8
Explore Victoria Falls
There are a plethora of activities to enjoy in Victoria Falls from guided tour of the falls and relaxed boat cruises to more extreme adrenaline activities, including bungee jumping, the Gorge Swing, white-water rafting, and helicopter rides (Victoria Falls is particularly impressive from above). You can also enjoy a micro-light flight, zipline, or swim out to Devil’s Pool; a natural infinity pool right on the edge of the falls (seasonal).

Day 9
Depart from Victoria Falls
Sadly, your luxury safari tour of Botswana comes to an end, as you transfer back to Victoria Falls International Airport in plenty of time for your onward journey home.
